Postpartum Care

Loving, hands-on physiologic care in your home during the first 6 weeks after birth.

The first 40 days after birth are crucial for a mother’s long-term health and well-being. During this time, rest, warmth and nourishment are essential for a strong recovery. As a postpartum doula, I provide holistic care through being N.E.A.R.: nurturing, educating, assessing, and referring. I hold space for you and your family, creating a peaceful environment for recovery. My services include nutritional and herbal guidance, emotional support, newborn care, partner and sibling support, and self-care rituals like herbal sitz baths and teas. I also offer bodywork, moxibustion, babywearing instruction, breastfeeding guidance, and coordinating care among family and friends, ensuring your family has everything they need during this precious time.

Packages start at $2,000 and include one prenatal visit (2 hours) and seven postpartum visits (4 hours each).  During the prenatal I will share education on what to expect during your healing time, manage expectations, and work with you to craft a care plan. This is my starter package, designed to provide essential postpartum support. Longer or fully customized options are available to meet your unique needs. Reach out to discuss a personalized plan that best supports your family’s journey or to inquire about travel live-in care.

Homebirth Support

Continuous care from early labor through the early postpartum hours.

During a homebirth, the midwives are busy! Their focus is on you & your baby's health and safety.  Having a doula to focus on your emotional and physical needs is invaluable!  I will be with you before the midwives arrive to support you through the beginning of labor, staying until you and baby are tucked into bed, nursing and fed in a tidy home.

My package is $2,000 and includes two prenatal visits (2 hours each) and one postpartum check in visit (2 hours).  Additional prenatal childbirth prep sessions can be added if desired.  I will be on call for your birth beginning at 37 weeks.  Support is also available in a birth center setting. This package may be combined with my extended postpartum care offerings.

"Having Crystal as our postpartum doula was life changing. When we had our second baby, life got complicated. Having a toddler, postpartum preeclampsia, dad going back to work and grandma leaving town put me in a vulnerable place. She came in and took care of me. She took care of the baby so I could take care of me (ie, sleep and shower). She took care of the house so I could take a break. Really, anything our home needed she could help us with. I think it was really good for my husband and our relationship too. She was flexible and has such a healing way about her. You can tell she has a true passion for helping the new mom through those first few months of their baby’s life. I’m so thankful for Crystal."

"Going into the birth of my second baby, it was important to me to find a lot of support- the kind I didn’t have with my first baby. I hired Crystal to be both my birth doula and postpartum doula and it was the best choice I made when planning for the ultimately healing homebirth and postpartum time I had after an extremely rough first experience.

Crystal came over for my labor and birth and just intuitively knew what to do and made sure all the things I wanted/needed were taken care of. For the postpartum healing time it was so reassuring and relieving to have another mama who had been through it 3x take care of me so I could rest and heal and bond with my baby. There are so many little things that moms do during the day to keep up with a home especially when you have multiple children and to have that burden off me during the postpartum time was invaluable.

Crystal is a wonderful listener and is joyful and such a beautiful presence to have in your space. As a (former) assistant midwife and doula myself I know what it takes to have the wisdom to know how to be with pregnant and postpartum women in that delicate bubble and Crystal definitely has the gift of knowing how to be."

~Ashley

"Highly recommend Crystal!  So sweet, friendly, down to help in all aspects of 'after the baby comes home.'  Very knowledgeable, and would be fantastic to have in your corner, whether for your first baby, or third (like us!)"

~Leslie

"I'm so happy it worked out for you to be with me in my postpartum time -- it was way crazier than I could have thought & your calm, roots vibes was just what we needed!"
